🍦 What Food Would I Say Is My Specialty?

That old tune still gets me smiling because, truth be told, ice cream isn’t just a dessert to me—it’s an art form. A calling. A lifelong obsession that started when I was a kid pressing my nose against the frosty glass of a corner shop freezer.

Yes, I admit it—I’m hooked. Some people collect wine, I collect flavors. While others talk about grilling the perfect steak, I’ll happily lecture anyone within earshot on the finer differences between Handel’s, Ben & Jerry’s, and Turkey Hill. I’ve tasted them all, compared notes, and even made my own from scratch. Let’s just say I know my way around an ice cream maker better than most chefs know their knives.

My freezer looks like a tiny arctic wonderland. Pints stacked high, lids half-frozen shut from overuse, spoons of every size waiting like surgical instruments. When friends come over, they know better than to ask what’s for dinner—they go straight for dessert.

And yes, I’ve experimented: homemade caramel swirl, fresh strawberry cream, even a dangerously addictive espresso chip that could double as rocket fuel. Nothing beats the pride of pulling out your own homemade creation, scooping it into a frosted bowl, and knowing that every bite was crafted just the way you like it.

When it comes to store-bought, Handel’s holds a special place in my heart. Their chocolate pecan and Graham Central Station are legendary—smooth, rich, unapologetically decadent. That first creamy spoonful brings me right back to childhood summers when life was simpler and happiness came in a cone.

So, what food would I say is my specialty? Without question—ice cream. I don’t just eat it; I study it, savor it, and celebrate it. It’s the one thing I never tire of perfecting, whether it’s a fresh homemade batch or a late-night scoop straight from the freezer.

As I like to say, some chase fame, others fortune… me? I chase the perfect scoop.
