Beauty, Influence, and the AI Revolution

(by Beebop’s Blog)

Every time I scroll through social media, I can’t help but notice how many men and women — young and old — have turned themselves into online personalities. It doesn’t seem to matter what they’re talking about anymore. Gardening, cooking, investing, or fitness — the content is just the excuse. The real magnet is how they look.

I’ve seen it all. The young woman wearing only denim overalls giving “garden tips,” smiling into the camera while she bends over her tomato plants. The beautiful middle-aged influencer doing yoga beside a lake while explaining “balance and gratitude.” And, of course, the one that always makes me shake my head — the stunning wealthy fifty-something woman prancing around her $250,000 kitchen in a brand-new outfit, sipping coffee out of a $200 mug while preaching about “simplicity.” There’s nothing simple about it.

Let’s be honest — most of those likes, followers, and views are from men. That’s the bottom line nobody wants to say out loud. The platforms know it, the creators know it, and the rest of us see it plain as day.

Social media runs on eyes, not ears. And most men are wired to look. So when a woman in overalls gives garden advice, the attention isn’t on the soil or the watering schedule. The tomatoes weren’t the round objects that were getting the attention or likes.

Now, I’m not knocking it. In fact, I respect the hustle. These people understand the game — attention equals opportunity. In the “attention economy,” looks have become leverage, and they’re cashing in on it.

But I think the trend will eventually fade. AI is already rewriting the rules. We now have virtual influencers — flawless digital women who never age, never need makeup, and never have a bad camera angle. When the web is flooded with endless perfection, human beauty will lose its edge. And when that happens, authenticity will suddenly become the rarest thing on earth.

People will start craving real again — wrinkles, laughter, a bit of imperfection. The kind of charm you can’t fake with filters.

Still, I admit, I get a laugh out of it. The bikini gardener, the polished kitchen queen, the “wellness guru” who films her thoughts between outfit changes — it’s all so absurd and so human. The content’s just background noise. The beauty is the act.

And we all know who’s keeping those view counts climbing — mostly men pretending they’re fascinated by composting techniques and organic fertilizer.

The internet is a strange garden. Right now, beauty’s what’s blooming. But give it time — once AI starts planting its seeds, this crop of influencers might not look quite so natural anymore.
