You know you’re really old when you run into the people you worked with 30 years ago—
who were younger than you at the time—and in your memory they’re still 28… but standing in front of you now, they’re 58.
In your mind they are still frozen at 28… .
And then you look closely in the mirror and think, “Wow… I remember when I first met this guy—he looked a lot more rested.”
That’s the humbling part. Everyone else seems to have aged overnight, right up until the mirror gently clears its throat and reminds you that time has been working overtime on both sides of the glass.
The brain still thinks young. The attitude hasn’t changed.
The reflection just looks like it’s seen a few more worries than it planned to.
