(According to WordPress… it’s always “me me me me!”)
It’s Christmas Day. Families gathering, kids ripping open presents, ovens working overtime—and over on WordPress the prompt of the day is… “How are you creative?”
Not: “What does Christmas mean to you?”
Not: “What holiday tradition brings you joy?”
Not even something like: “What does this season inspire in your heart?”
Nope. Today is about me. Me me me. Because apparently that’s the true spirit of the season—if you work at WordPress.
Look, I get it—WordPress is global. Not everyone celebrates Christmas. Some celebrate Hanukkah, some celebrate Kwanzaa, Diwali or Eid al-Fitr, some celebrate nothing at all. But here’s the point:
You can craft a question that gives people the freedom to share what matters to them—their faith, their traditions, their joy—without insulting or excluding anyone.
Ask something that opens the door.
Ask something that gives people permission to express who they are.
Because that’s what writing is supposed to do.
Anyway… in the spirit of answering your chosen prompt…
How am I creative?
Well, clearly I’m creative enough to come up with better WordPress prompts than WordPress.
But seriously: I’m creative because I solve problems in a different way. I tune into that subconscious part of my brain that works even when I’m not paying attention. I bring passion, excitement, persuasion, and a little humor to everything I do. And I love making people feel something — even if it’s just a chuckle on a day like today.
So yes, WordPress… thank you for another “all about me” prompt on a day that probably should be about other people.
But here’s the real answer:
Creativity is the way I carry my heart into the world.
My family, my faith, my traditions—that’s where my creativity comes alive.
Merry Christmas to those celebrating.
Happy holidays to everyone else.
And may we all find better questions to answer. 🎄✨
