
People chase happiness like it’s hiding somewhere exotic, but mine shows up right in everyday life — the kind you can smell, touch, and laugh about.
1. Being at the beach in the sun. Give me salt air, sun on my face, and the sound of waves — that’s therapy right there. No appointments, no co‑pays, just peace.
2. Finding and selling a score. There’s nothing like spotting a hidden gem at a flea market or estate sale — that rush when you realize you just found something special. And when you sell it? That’s the victory lap. Watching someone light up over a piece you rescued from obscurity — that’s the antique dealer’s version of hitting a home run.
3. Eating ice cream. Simple, cold, perfect. Doesn’t matter the flavor — it’s the universal reset button. Life gets heavy, grab a cone.
4. Petting my cats. They don’t care about deadlines, bills, or bad knees. They just show up, demand attention, and remind you to slow down. A few minutes of purring therapy and the world feels right again.
5. Being with my grandkids. This one’s the jackpot. They remind me what matters — laughter, curiosity, and the kind of joy you can’t fake. They keep me young, even when my back disagrees.
