“My Favorite Form of Physical Exercise? Are you kidding me?

If I get one more uninspiring WordPress prompt like asking about my favorite (fill in the blank), I’m going to start responding with “oxygen.” Seriously, who’s out there on the edge of their seat waiting for those answers from me? Are people really scrolling through blogs thinking, “Oh boy, I hope today Rich finally reveals his favorite form of cardio”?
I mean, if I were Gwyneth Paltrow, people might pretend to care. She could write a whole essay about “spiritual lung cleansing through Himalayan fog inhalation,” and half the internet would start ordering fog machines. Or if I were Arnold Schwarzenegger, sure, everyone would want to know my favorite exercise — probably something that involves lifting a small car before breakfast.
But me? If I say “I prefer carrying groceries in one trip,” nobody’s framing that quote on their wall.
If I get one more WordPress prompt asking about my favorite form of exercise, I might count “rolling my eyes” as a legitimate workout. Honestly, at this point, it’s the only muscle group getting consistent attention.
These prompts are supposed to spark inspiration, right? Instead, they feel like they were written by a robot who’s been on hold with customer service since 1998.
I tried to take the question seriously. I sat down, thought deeply, and realized my favorite form of exercise is… avoiding it creatively.
- Walking briskly past the gym counts, doesn’t it?
- Carrying groceries in one trip? Olympic-level.
- Wrestling with a fitted sheet? Full-body cardio.
- And if I drop my phone under the couch — that’s yoga, resistance training, and flexibility all in one!
I could lie and say I love morning jogs and the “runner’s high.” But let’s be honest — the only high I’ve ever gotten from running was watching it end. My fitness tracker once asked if I’d “fallen behind on my goals.” No, I just fell behind in general.
Still, I get it. Exercise is good for the mind, body, and blog engagement metrics. So, to stay on topic, here’s my final, fully honest answer:
My favorite form of physical exercise is laughing at ridiculous blog prompts.
It works the abs, boosts endorphins, and keeps me sane while I wait for a question that actually makes me think.
