What’s something you believe everyone should know.

Every once in a while, WordPress throws out a prompt that really makes me stop and think. Today’s question was simple: “What’s something you believe everyone should know?”

At first, I thought of a dozen quick answers. But the more I reflected on it, the more I realized there isn’t just one thing. After nearly seven decades of living, raising a family, running businesses, managing properties, and learning from both mistakes and victories, I’ve gathered a few truths worth passing on. So here are ten things everyone should know, from my heart to yours.

1. Character Outlasts Everything
Talent fades, money comes and goes, but your character endures. The way you treat people when no one’s watching tells the real story of who you are.

2. Hard Work Still Works
I’ve seen people with half the resources but twice the drive rise higher than anyone expected. Effort is the great equalizer—and it still pays off.

3. Time Moves Faster Than You Think
You blink and the kids you were raising are now raising kids of their own. Don’t waste time chasing things that don’t matter. Build moments, not monuments.

4. There’s a Bigger Hand at Work
Call it faith, fate, or the divine—it’s real. Life’s not random. Every trial, every twist, every heartbreak has a reason, even if you don’t see it until much later.

5. Legacy Isn’t Measured in Dollars
The greatest inheritance you can leave your family isn’t money—it’s stories, wisdom, and the example of a life well-lived. Those things never depreciate.

6. Learn to Work with Your Hands
Fix a leaky faucet, hang a door, change a tire. Self-reliance builds confidence—and confidence builds independence.

7. Don’t Let Screens Steal Your Truth
Most of what you see online is designed to sell you something or make you angry. Real truth lives in real conversation—around the dinner table, not through a feed.

8. Take Care of the Body You’ve Been Given
You only get one. Eat clean, move often, and be thankful each morning that you woke up with another chance to do better.

9. Kindness Is a Powerful Force
A smile, a compliment, a kind word—it all matters. I’ve made it a habit to thank people for doing a good job, especially when it’s unexpected. It changes their day—and mine.

10. Free Will and Destiny Dance Together
You steer the wheel, but the road is already mapped. Wisdom is knowing when to push forward and when to trust the turn.

If everyone knew even half of these things, the world would be a kinder, calmer, and more grounded place. Life teaches you plenty—if you’re willing to listen.
