Who Are My Current Most Favorite People?

WordPress threw me another “deep thought” prompt today:
Who are your current most favorite people?

Come on. With a nickname like Beebop, the answer is practically tattooed on my forehead.

Not celebrities.
Not athletes.
Not authors.

My seven grandkids — Annie, Rylen, Jaxon, Milo, Oliver, Willow, and Vera — and the order never changes. They’ve held the top spot since the moment each one showed up.

Let me brag about them a little.

Annie — the Trailblazer and My Fishing Buddy

Annie is the one who made me “Beebop,” and now she’s become my official fishing buddy.
And she’s hooked — pun absolutely intended.
There’s something special about being out on the water with her, just the two of us talking, laughing, and waiting for a bite. She’s steady, thoughtful, wise for her age, and now she’s picked up one of my favorite pastimes. That makes it even better.

Rylen — the Sports Star

This kid lives, sleeps, and eats baseball.
If he isn’t playing, he’s practicing.
If he isn’t practicing, he’s watching highlights.
If he isn’t watching, he’s talking about it.
He’s got the determination, the grit, and the love of the game that great athletes are built from. Baseball is in his DNA.

Jaxon is one of those rare kids who looks at a math problem and solves it like he’s reading a simple sentence. Numbers just click for him. Fast thinker, sharp mind, huge potential — you can practically see the gears turning in his head.

Milo and Oliver share a birthday, but that’s about where the similarities stop. Milo is calm, kind, and gentle — the kid who naturally brings peace to a room.
And he’s super organized. His room, his toys, his backpack — everything has a place, and he makes sure it stays that way. He’s steady, sweet, and put-together in a way that amazes me.
