Normal Americans Need to Take Their Country Back

I spent part of my workout today watching Holocaust documentaries on YouTube.

Sounds morbid, I know. But I actually think it’s important. Because every once in a while, we all need to remind ourselves what human beings are capable of when propaganda takes over, truth gets buried, and one political ideology controls everything.

And please don’t say, “That could never happen again.”

It already has, in other parts of the world. And to a lesser degree, I believe we’re seeing the early warning signs of it happening right here in America.

This “extremists culture” insanity has to stop.

Most Americans aren’t extremists. Most of us are somewhere in the middle — center-left or center-right — and we just want normal life again. We want to get along. We want to raise our kids in peace. We want a country where people can disagree without being treated like enemies. We want a country where everyone is proud to be an American.

I know what you are thinking right now. He is talking about how right our side is. Sorry both sides are wrong.

But right now, the far right and the far left are screaming the loudest… and the rest of us are sitting quietly, hoping it all just blows over.

It won’t.

Kids need to be educated, not indoctrinated.
We need a free and open press.
Books should never be banned.
People should never be “banned.”
Everyone should have the right to pursue a profession and live their life without arbitrary government interference.
We have to protect free speech, free thought, and the basic American principles of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

And here’s another thing that bothers me: no business — big or small — should be allowed to refuse service to someone simply because of their political beliefs. That’s not equality. That’s discrimination with a new label.

When people talk about the Holocaust, one question always comes up:

“How could the German people allow it to happen?”

The answer is simple: because little by little, people stopped speaking up. They stayed quiet. They went along to get along. They were afraid to say “NO.”

And honestly… that’s what I see happening today.

People are afraid to speak their minds.
Afraid to lose friends.
Afraid to lose jobs.
Afraid to be publicly attacked.
Afraid their own family might cut them off.

And if society can “cancel” Dr. Seuss, don’t kid yourself — they can cancel you too.

Maybe you don’t get the job you applied for.
Maybe you don’t get the apartment.
Maybe you get fired.
Maybe people stop returning your calls.
Maybe you get labeled something you’re not, just because you don’t agree with the loudest voices.

That’s not freedom.

And it breaks my heart for young people, because they’re growing up in a world where speaking honestly feels dangerous.

I’m not trying to be dramatic. I’m trying to be realistic.

We need to push back — peacefully, intelligently, and together — against extremism on both sides before it’s too late.

Because history has shown us what happens when good people stay silent.
