You hit sixty, and suddenly life isn’t a warm‑up anymore. It’s the real thing. And if you’re not paying attention, the whole structure can shift under your feet.
So I built myself six pillars. Not theories. Not cute ideas. Pillars.
My health — even when I hate working out. My passions — home improvement, fishing, nutrition, picking antiques, dealing with customers. My mindset — getting dressed, grooming, showing up for my own life. My spiritual grounding — the quiet conversations about why we’re here. My people — the real ones, not the takers. And my financial stability — steady, not flashy.
Psychologists say when you lose too many supports at once, the mind buckles. I’ve seen it. I’m not letting it happen to me.
So I work on these pillars with intention. Not perfectly. But consistently. Because they don’t just hold up my retirement.
They hold up me. Visit my blog site to read the entire story , please like and subscribe.

I like the idea of “showing up for my own life”. I understand the idea and think I really have to lose a kilo …or more. Good post.
