What’s a thing you wish schools actually taught?

Communist and socialist societies have demonstrated that centralized governments can produce exceptional science, engineering, and major technological achievements—especially when those achievements are tied to military, defense, space, or other strategic government objectives. What they have largely failed to demonstrate is the ability to repeatedly turn innovation into world-changing consumer products. Like the auto industry, food chain, medical break throughs or the one big one that changed the world, the iphone. Competitive free-market economies, driven by entrepreneurship, private investment, competition, and consumer choice, have historically been dramatically more successful at doing that.
