The Subconscious Mind , God’s Gift.

For many years I have been fascinated by the power of the subconscious mind. The older I get and the more life experiences I collect, the more convinced I become that the subconscious mind is one of the greatest gifts God ever gave mankind.

Now before anyone misunderstands me, I am not saying that the subconscious mind is God. Far from it. God is the Creator and we are His creation. But I do believe that the subconscious mind is one of the ways God works within us and communicates with us. It is the channel through which faith, hope, inspiration, creativity, and sometimes even warnings seem to reach us.

Think about it. How many times have you had a strong feeling that you should or should not do something, only to later discover that feeling was right? How many times has the answer to a problem appeared in your mind seemingly out of nowhere after you stopped consciously thinking about it? How often have you heard stories of people waking up in the middle of the night with an idea, a solution, or a sudden urge to check on a loved one?

I believe God gave every human being this incredible gift. The conscious mind may do the reasoning and calculating, but the subconscious mind never sleeps. It is always listening, always processing, always working quietly in the background.

This is one of the reasons I believe prayer is so powerful. When we pray sincerely, we are not just speaking words into the air. We are speaking to God, but our subconscious mind hears those words as well. Every prayer, every expression of gratitude, every request for guidance, and every statement of faith is planted deep within us.

Perhaps that is part of God’s design. Spiritually, we are reaching out to our Creator. At the same time, our subconscious mind is absorbing those messages of hope, faith, forgiveness, gratitude, and purpose. Those thoughts become part of who we are. They shape our attitudes, influence our decisions, and often give us the strength to keep moving forward when circumstances tell us to give up.

I also believe this explains why negative thinking can be so destructive. If you constantly tell yourself that you will fail, that life is unfair, or that there is no hope, your subconscious mind begins to accept those messages as truth. On the other hand, if you fill your mind with faith, gratitude, determination, and optimism, your actions often begin to move in that direction as well.

Perhaps this is why scripture places so much emphasis on guarding our thoughts and renewing our minds. Our thoughts matter. What we feed our minds eventually becomes part of who we are.

God gave every person a brain, but He also gave us something deeper and more powerful than simple intelligence. He gave us a subconscious mind capable of incredible things when guided by faith, purpose, and moral principles.

Maybe the subconscious mind is not God, but I believe it is one of His greatest gifts to humanity. Like any gift, we can use it wisely or we can ignore it altogether. Personally, I choose to believe that when we quiet the noise of everyday life and listen carefully, we sometimes hear the gentle voice of God speaking through that part of us He created for exactly that purpose.
