“If you’ve been around long enough and paid attention to history, you know what works, what doesn’t, and what happens when people make the same stupid mistakes over and over again. There’s nothing wrong with progress, but just because something is new doesn’t mean it’s better. You don’t throw away generations of wisdom, values, and common sense just because somebody comes along with a different idea. Learn from the past, hang on to what’s worth keeping, and you won’t have nearly as much to fear about the future.”
