At 69 years old, I’ve learned that true energy isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about how I care for my body, mind, and environment every day. For me, it’s a combination of supplements, movement, and lifestyle habits that keep me alert, focused, and feeling alive.
I start my mornings with two full 12-ounce glasses of water, followed by a series of simple movements that engage every muscle group. This wakes up my system and prepares me for the day. I aim to walk at least two miles or more daily, keeping my body moving, my heart strong, and my mind sharp.
My supplements are a key part of my routine. Methylene Blue supports mitochondrial function for cellular energy. GlyNAC enhances antioxidant defenses and supports glutathione production, helping my cells combat oxidative stress. I take MCT oil daily, which produces ketones—clean fuel for my brain that keeps me mentally sharp. I also take omega-3s for heart and brain health, and vitamin D3 with K2 to support bone, immune, and cardiovascular function.
I follow a strict 20:4 intermittent fasting schedule, eating only within a four-hour window. My diet is high in protein and healthy fats, low in carbohydrates, and free from sugar and processed foods. This approach helps my body burn fat efficiently and maintain steady, long-lasting energy. I eat an apple every day for natural, slow-release energy and make sure to get at least seven hours of sleep, allowing my body to repair, restore, and replenish.
Being outdoors is another essential part of my energy routine. I make it a point to see the rising and setting sun whenever possible. The nerves in my eyes, specifically the photosensitive retinal ganglion cells, detect the angle and intensity of sunlight. They send signals to my brain’s master clock, helping to suppress melatonin in the morning and raise it in the evening, naturally aligning my sleep-wake cycle and giving me steady energy throughout the day. Soaking up natural sunlight also boosts vitamin D and energizes me in ways no artificial light can.
In the end, my energy isn’t about one pill, one workout, or one habit—it’s about consistency, awareness, and respecting my body’s natural rhythms. Every choice I make, from supplements to movement to lifestyle, contributes to a reservoir of energy I can rely on every day.
